The Middle Ages Marches into the Classroom
Article Abstract:
Many students say the very best kind of educational experience is a demonstration presented by an outsider who has something interesting to talk about and show. Enter the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). SCA is an international educational organization dedicated to the study of the Middle Ages. SCA members create characters based on hypothetical people that lived between 600-1600 A.D. They bring these characters into schools upon request. A list of SCA contacts and a bibliography of Middle Ages literature is included.

Versatile Video: Videotaping to Improve Classroom Management
Article Abstract:
In a classroom, videotape recording can allow students to see themselves. This is helpful when a goal of the class is psychological self-examination. A step-by-step description of the implementation of one such project is covered. A second 'pen-pal' use of videotaping students is discussed in a short accompanying article.
