The ethos is religious, but it's not antiscience
Article Abstract:
An overview of the role of Christian organisations in the operation of universities in Africa. It is argued that Africa's Christian universities are very different to their counterparts, and that in Africa religion has often been the midwife of modernity and change, unlike in the US where religious groups attempt to block change and force religious beliefs into science lessons.

Muslims seek timetable rejig
Article Abstract:
If a student vote is passed this month, universities will be urged to consider not scheduling lectures and exams for two hours on Friday afternoons to provide Muslim students time to pray. Up to 1200 students will debate whether or not university timetables should be cleared between midday and 2pm on Friday afternoons.
