The rapid development in computer technology has led to the increased demand for qualified workers. Employment for professional, technical, and service jobs relating to computers are growing. The job description, education needs, place of work, and salary scale of ten occupations are listed. These are systems analysts, artificial intelligence specialists, electrical and electronics engineers, computer programmers, computer operators, computer aided drafting specialists, robotics technicians, electromechanical technicians, computer service technicians, and data processing technicians.

The right prescription
Article Abstract:
The Los Angeles Trade Technical Community College and the California Medical Center are now reaping the benefits of the internship program they started in Feb. 1995. The hospital offers training in a wide range of vocational jobs such as air conditioning and refrigeration and the maintenance and repair of biomedical instruments. The internship program offers the hospital free labor while giving them a chance to assess the performance of future employees. Interns, on the other hand, get a first hand experience of the different aspects of the work environment.

Article Abstract:
The school board at Rockbridge County, VA, finally succeeded in its plan to consolidate the county's three high schools into its vocational technical center. The Natural Bridge High School, the Rockbridge High School, and the Lexington High School can have access to high-tech facilities and vocational courses all within the Rockbridge County High School. The school opened in 1992 over mixed reactions ranging from apprehension to optimism.
