Time to share the fruits of our world-class labour
Article Abstract:
The new chief executive of the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) analyses the challenges facing arts and humanities researchers in the United Kingdom and the aims of the AHRC. It is argued that the AHRC must encourage the production of basic or pure research and foster the processes by which this research flows into the wider community, thereby enhancing the nation's quality of life and improving its competitiveness.

UK creative community takes it to another level

The chief executive of the Arts and Humanities Research Board (AHRB)argues that moves contained with the higher education bill to elevate the AHRB's status to that of research board will benefit everybody. It is contended that the move will enable those within the arts and humanities to community to enter the mainstream of research funding and strategy, allowing them to play a full role in national life.
