There have been a number of changes in global education such as links between education and the experience industry. Education is losing monopoly power in the field of knowledge. Some UK industrial companies spend more on research than the whole of the research budget for science and engineering of the UK government. Education is located between leisure and work and can thus play an important role in new technological developments and economic change.

The grass could be greener
Article Abstract:
Director of the Centre for Rural Economy at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, Philip Lowe, believes that Britain needs to totally rethink the way it views rural areas. He feels that past policy that supported the pursuit of domestic self-sufficiency in food is no longer appropriate and new policy should safeguard the public interest in rural areas and look at the specific disadvantages of rural living.

Since Namibia obtained its independence in 1990, the government has pumped considerable resources into its education and health systems, in order to address the problem of under-development. The University of Namibia has been expanded to allow a larger student body, and a second campus has been built.
