Two single females and a slimy supervisor
Article Abstract:
Doctoral students can find it very difficult to choose the best person to supervise their work. In many cases, they feel obliged to place emphasis on the potential supervisor's research expertise, and must therefore try to overlook their concerns about personal compatibility with the supervisor. At a later stage, doctoral students who are unhappy with their choice of supervisor may find that they cannot discuss personal ideas with their supervisor, and this may have a negative impact on their work. The degree of power held by the supervisor tends to create considerable difficulties.
