V-c slams tribunal 'Catch-22'
Article Abstract:
Deian Hopkin, vice-chancellor of London South Bank University, has criticised the tribunal system, pointing out that the university has wasted a "prodigious amount of money" defending itself against cases that had little chance of success. Over the past three years, the university has faced 15 tribunals, of which it has lost only one but, Hopkin points out, the university still has to pay its legal costs, even when it wins.
