Victorian splendour brought up-to-date
Article Abstract:
The Victorian Database electronic publication will be of great use to researchers as it incorporates information from 500 journals and 60,000 books published during 1970-1995, but its usefulness is limited by its rigidity. It is difficult to locate information on specific enquiries as the keyword index appears to consist of mechanical titles without always taking into account the work's intellectual content. The publication incorporates cross-references on a wide range of disciplines, however, and will be updated each year.
