Article Abstract:
An analysis of the possible impact on the academic book publishing sector of plans by organisations such as Google, Amazon and Microsoft to make the contents of books available online. While some fear that the plans will damage the publishing sector and will see students just downloading and copying and pasting passages of texts into their essays, others believe that the plans will provide a wider audience for academic works.
