The way we were radical
Article Abstract:
Student protests of 1968 were a global phenomenon, and affected Paris, France, Chicago and Mexico City, among other places. There is a sense of nostalgia when recalling those times, but also a sense of loss. Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy were assasinated. Lyndon Johnson withdrew from the campaign to become president, after he had sought to tackle Civil Rights issues. Students and workers were massacred in Mexico City. The events of that year could be described by the first sentences in the work of Charles Dickens called 'Tale of Two Cities'.

Praise to juvenile efforts
Article Abstract:
A childrens publisher is commissioning several university academics to write books about their subject, for children. A professor who undertook the task to write a historical biography aimed at children, aged between 12-18 years, found it was challenging but enjoyable. He had to change the way he wrote, with no references to other publications in the text, quotations or footnotes. He found he had to interpret the story more clearly. The Oxford University Press has asked a number of professors to take part in their initiative.
