Article Abstract:
An analysis of the impact that the Government's proposals to increase the retirement age to 65 from 60 will have on teachers and academics. It is argued that such an increase in the retirement age will have a serious impact for the worse on work-life balance and that, as pensions are really only deferred wages, what the Government is really proposing is a massive wage cut for everybody.
