Article Abstract:
The DVD Forum has announced that its Steering Committee has approved the version 1.0 of the DVD-Audio disc specifications. Two music industry requests were incorporated in the revisions of the June-issued 0.9 specifications. These include the addition of a lossless transmission system for music signal processing as an option for content producers and the increase in the flexibility for content providers who may want to use Dolby Digital sound with video clips or both Dolby Digital and LPCM sound tracks.

The training seminars will focus on new technologies such as DVD Audio and Super Audio CD. Suppliers expected to exhibit their wares include Sony, which plans to unveil its first SACD player, and Marantz, which will release the RC-5000 programmable universal remote.
