CALS: what does it mean for you and your organization?
Article Abstract:
Many industries have adopted the Dept of Defense's Computer Aided Logistics Support (CALS) initiative as a basis for developing systems to conduct commerce electronically. In fact, CALS has been called 'Commerce At Light Speed' by many and new applications of the concept were displayed at the CALS Expo International 95 Conference and Exposition. CALS has changed from its initial concept and is difficult to define. Essentially, it is a strategy to migrate from paper-based defense system operations to automated processes.
