DVZ-2201 DVD car-navigation systems
Article Abstract:
Kenwood has introduced four new DVD car-navigation systems that have built-in modems and can be connected to cellular phones. The four models feature Secure Digital RAM for read out and storage of data, and has a high-speed graphic engine for drawing maps. They also have a cellular phone memory read-in function. The DVZ-2081M has an 8-in touch-panel TV and retails for 263,000 yen while the DVZ-2201TV has a 7-in wide TV, selling for 225,000 yen. The DVZ-9191TV has a retail price of 260,000 yen while the DVZ-2201 is priced at 168,000 yen.

CN-DV3500XWD DVD car-navigation systems
Article Abstract:
Matsushita Communication Industrial Company Ltd has unveiled five new car navigation systems under its e-Navi series. These are the CN-DV3500XWD; the CN-DV3300XWD; the CN-DV3300XSD; the CN-DV3020XWD; and the CN-DV3020XD models. All five models contain 30 million telephone numbers from all over Japan and 770 maps. The only optional package is the CY-HCM200D mobile communications unit that supports various network functions and an emergency reporting service.

RM-A102/A402 universal remote controllers
Article Abstract:
Victor Company of Japan Ltd (JVC) has released two remote control devices that will work with VCRs and TV sets from any manufacturer. The devices, which include the RM-A402 and the RM-A102, retails for 3,500 yen ($33) and 2,500 yen ($23), respectively. JVC's universal remotes, which have undergone antibacterial treatments, are available in a wide range of colors and are capable of prolonging battery life by twice their conventional lifespan.
