DVZ series of DVD-based navigators

Kenwood Corp's DVZ series of DVD car navigation systems work with data for the Intelligent Transport System. The systems feature the company's recently developed Hyper Combination CPU system, which allows the system to search through traffic and map data to identify five possible routes within 3 sec. Also, the navigators also adopt DRAMs for swift processing. Prices are $1,541 for the DVZ-2200, $2,064 for the DVZ-2200TV, $2,385 for the DVZ-919TV and $2,413 for the DVZ-2080M.

NVX-DV series of DVD navigators
Article Abstract:
Sony Corp's NVX-DV5, NVX-DV705 and NVX-DV805 car navigation systems incorporate DVD drives and use jog dials for easy operation. This allows them to handle data for as many as 30 million homes, 26 million addresses or 50 million telephone numbers. The jog dial offers access to the 12 most common functions, such as choosing roads, checking routes and locating traffic jams. Prices are $1,633 for the NVX-DV5, $2,037 for the NVX-DV705 and $2,413 for the NVX-DV805.

Article Abstract:
Matsushita Communications Industrial Company Ltd has expanded ith series of DVD car naviagtion systems with the introduction of two additional models. These include the $3,048 CN-DV3300GWD and the $3,349 CN-DV330GSD. The latter is equipped with a seven-inch VGA display with wide screen formats and was designed with 1.152 million pixels, thereby providing a clear display of fine text and road widths.
