Sony turns up the lights on NightShot camcorder technology
Article Abstract:
Sony Corp's camcorders incorporate the NightShot feature, enabling them to record images at nighttime. The facility, which was developed based on studies on human vision and the properties of charge-coupled devices found in cameras, allows the camcorder to capture an image of a subject, without external illumination or even in complete darkness. NightShot-equipped camcorders capture the infrared waves generated by the darkly-lit subjects, while the light-emitting diode (LED) LaserLinks function illuminates the subjects that lack infrared radiation.
