Cellular phones push demand button for flash memories
Article Abstract:
Manufacturers of flash memories for cellular telephones are increasing production in 1999 to accomodate growing demand. Mitsubishi Electric Corp of Tokyo, Japan, for example, will triple monthly production to 3 million units. Similarly, Fujitsu Ltd, also of Japan, will push monthly production 1.4 times to 14 million units. Aside from cellular telephones, manufacturers are also considering new uses for flash memories.
