With mid-range, low-end, portable models, pioneer extends DVD lineup

Pioneer Electronic Corp, one of the first companies to introduce high-end DVD players, is adding mid-range and low-end models to its DVD lineup in response to shifts in consumer demand. For the same reason, the company has launched two portable DVD players, which the company is targeting for overseas markets. The company intends to begin shipping the portable DVD players in fall 1999 in time for the Holiday season.
