Weekly data aids Fujitsu's quest for PC sales gains

Fujitsu Ltd is aiming to boost sales of personal computers by 11% to 3.54 million units in FY 1998. The Japanese computer manufacturer plans to achieve this goal by concentrating on customer needs and improving management of its supply chain. In line with this, the company is establishing production and supply systems using information from weekly demand forecasts to be able to respond immediately and accurately to market trends.

Fujitsu casts big plans for LCD projectors
Article Abstract:
Fujitsu General Ltd is expanding its product lines and beefing up its marketing efforts as part of a plan to expand its share of the global market for LCD projectors to 10% from around 3%. The company is not in a hurry though as it projects its market share to increase slightly to 4% in fiscal year 1999. Foreign sales account for 80% of the company's total sales of LCD projectors.
