Global device markets worsened in 1998, says WSTS
Article Abstract:
Figures from the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) reveal that the global semiconductor market declined by 10.9% at $122.2 billion in 1998 instead of the earlier prediction of a 1.8% drop. According to the WSTS, the larger-than-expected slip is due to falling semiconductor prices and the economic crisis in Southeast Asia. In 1999, the WSTS predicts a 6.6% market growth.
