ITS carves path for advances in vehicle-run information tools
Article Abstract:
Traffic congestion in Japan is giving rise to initiatives aimed at developing car-based systems that will help city authorities and drivers prevent its occurrence. One of the proposed initiatives, the Intelligent Transport System (ITS), intends to connect vehicles, roads and drivers through a single communication system. ITS, which is initially targeting nine areas in Japan, is supported by four government agencies and by the Vehicle, Road, and Traffic Intelligent Society.
