JVC keeps ball rolling for disc-based media
Article Abstract:
Victor Co of Japan Ltd has expanded its audio business since 1996. The company has positioned MiniDiscs (MDs) as the core of its audio business and already controls more than 10% of the MD audio market. However, JVC management desires to increase this market share to 15%. JVC also expects the market for digital video disc (DVD) players to double in 1999. The company has accordingly scheduled the release of a new DVD player and a new audio-use recordable compact dics player in autumn 1999.
