KV-14DA1 TV, KV-14MVF2 TV/VCR
Article Abstract:
Sony Corp has introduced its KV-14DA1 TV and KV-14MVF2 composite TV and VCR, which succeed the KV-14AF1. The products feature 14-in flatscreen FD Trinitron CRTs. Each unit has velocity modular circuitry and a three-line digital comb filter. This technology improves clarity and reduces flicker. The KV-14DA1 measures 411 x 393 mm, while the KV-14MVF2, which is offered with a D terminal, measures 415 x 375 x 390 mm. The products are available in orange, blue and gray. The KV-14DA1 costs $299 and the KV-MVF2 is priced at $299-$342.

Fading Olympic gleam dims outlook for color TVs
Article Abstract:
Japanese shipments of color TVs from Jan to Sep 1998 totalled 6.503 million units, a decline of 8.5% from the same period in 1997. However, shipments of color TVs larger than 30 inches were up 3.6% from the previous year. Moreover, shipments of Hi-Vision and high-definition TVs between Jan and Sep 1998 were 10.8% more than in the corresponding period in 1997. Japanese manufacturers also expect to post large sales of flat- surface CRT TVs.
