Matsuhita's Motor outfit maps strategy for quality

Motor Co, the in-house company of Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd, will implement a quality management system in FY 1999. The system, dubbed as Adminitstrative Innovation Global Quality Management, relies on statistical methods from its production division and will be extended to all other divisions, including those for business and accounting. Meanwhile, Matsuhita plans to integrate business reforms in its other motor divisions.

Neodymium bonded magnets
Article Abstract:
Seiko Epson Corp of Japan has introduced a neodymium-iron-boron bonded magnet in 1999. The new magnet is shaped like a coin and measures just 0.3 mm thick. It employs a recyclable thermoplastic resin and is manufactured using the company's proprietary heat-compression molding method. It provides a maximum energy product of 80 KJ/m3, Since it has few internal pores, the magnet has good strength and highly resistant to corrosion.
