Sanyo Electric maps out strategies to cope with changing market
Article Abstract:
Yoshio Iwasa, president of Sanyo Technosound, toured the company's main overseas market to get a better understanding of market trends when he assumed the post in Jul 2000. Sanyo Technosound was established by Sanyo Electric Company Ltd in 1996 and tasked with manufacturing and selling all audio products sold under the Sanyo brand. One of the decisions made by the company was to introduce two models of digital audio players. It has also established its own distribution network and is a partner in a joint venture with Hitachi and Nippon Columbia for a distribution system.

Matsushita moves to shake off cumbersome management style
Article Abstract:
Kunio Nakamura, president of Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd, is hoping that lesser meetings, faster decision-making and more streamlined communications will help erase the company's image as a ponderous and slow-moving organization. Nakamura adds that he will do his best to eliminate time and labor wasted on meetings. As many as 400 people spend 2,000 hours preparing materials to be used in company meetings.
