Matsushita delivers dual-format DVD players, broadens DVD lineup
Article Abstract:
Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd will replace its traditional DVD- Video-only players with combination DVD-Audio and DVD-Video players designed to become the new backbone of its product line. Also, the company plans an intensified global sales strategy for its product line. At the end of Jun 2000, the company launched the DVD-A10 and DVD-A7 in both the Japanese and US markets. These products will be available in the European markets between Aug and Sep 2000, while in the Asian markets from September onward.

Aiwa teams DVD players, component audio sets for world market
Article Abstract:
Aiwa Co Ltd will add DVD-Video players to its latest lineup of mini, midi and micro-component audio systems. Aiming at the year-end sales season of 2000, the company will launch an extensive lineup of single-function DVD- Video players, combination DVD-Video players and audio systems. Aiwa will intensify sales during the holiday seasons in the US, Asia and Europe in anticipation of worldwide sales of DVD players of around 12 million in year 2000.
