Matsushita introduces Hi-Vision VCR

Matsushita Electric Industrial Company Ltd has unveiled the NV-DH1 digital Hi-Vision VCR that can replay TV broadcast signals and record BS digital broadcasts using i.Link terminals. Users can select or reserve programs through an electronic program guide, or use the program navigation function in displaying titles of programs.The NV-DH1 features technology that reduces cross-color and dot disturbances. Noise during replay is also controlled through three-dimensional noise reduction technology.

C21-FS7B1 combination TV, VCR sets

Hitachi Ltd has released a combination TV and VCR that also features the company's Tape Navi function. The C21-FS7B1, a device that incorporates a stereo Hi-Fi audio system, a VCR and a 21-inch CRT, also has a commercial skip function. Hitachi's unique Tape Navi function is capable of memorizing recorded television programs and displaying them on a list from which users can choose from. The device has a recommended price of 90,000 yen ($841).

Matsushita's new technology extends recording time
