MicroPD77210 16-bit DSPs
Article Abstract:
NEC Corp has introduced the microPD77210 series of 16-bit digital signal processor (DSP) with a maximum operating frequency of 160 MHz. The DSP can be used in developing single-chip audio and image codec with two or more channels. It features a RAM to handle 31.5k-word and 32-bit commands or 60k-word x 16-bit data. Other features include a serial interface, a 16- bit host parallel interface and a direct-memory access controller.

Makers tally benefits of swift DSP reckoning
Article Abstract:
The market for digital signal processors (DSPs) is projected to expand further with the incresing applications for the product. DSPs are currently being used in digital portable phones, mass-stroage devices, networks, personal information tools and general home appliances. The Japanese market for DSPs is projected to grow to 800 billion yen by 2007, while the global market could reach 5 trillion yen.

N2012ZPS600/800/121 impedance chips
Article Abstract:
Tokin Corp of Japan has introduced three new laminated impedance chips in 1999. The N2012ZPS600, N2012ZPS800 and N2012ZPS121 feature the 2012 format, can handle 4 A and 5 A currents and have an impedance of 60 ohms, 80 ohms and 120 ohms, respectively. Their small size is due to the use of conductors with low resistivity and special lamination methods in the manufacturing process.
