Minidiscs keep rolling, help Sony maintain momentum in car audio
Article Abstract:
Sony Corp is actively promoting its MiniDiscs (MDs) in order to characterize its presence in the car-audio market. MDs, which are already part of Sony's strategies for the worldwide home and personal audio equipment market, debuted in car-use audio equipment for the European market in late-1997. These products include the MDX-7900 entry-level system with Digital Dynamic Bass, and an MD changer that can concurrently handle six discs. Sony plans to boost its sales promotions among car-audio merchandisers in 1999, and add more car-use MD audio products.
