Denver-based ListenUp started out as a stereo store founded by Walt and Mary Kay Stinson and Steven Weiner in 1972, which now operates three hybrid custom/retail locations, corporate offices, a pro/commercial business with its own retail operation, a pure-custom design center, a service center and an e-commerce website. The various operations that led to the success of this 35-year-old company are discussed.

The consumer electronics (CE) industry is starting to find a platform for that will allow accurate comparison of "green" criteria such as energy efficiency and hazardous material levels. The various "green" efforts of CE makers like Philips' EcoVision program, as well as existing green programs like the Energy Star ratings program, are discussed.
