Perfecting the last 100 feet
Article Abstract:
The home entertainment industry lost around $330 million due to out-of-stocks, and 70% of which are due to the staff's inability to locate items. This costly issue can be solved through merchandising services offered by companies to prevent profit losses due to inefficiencies in the supply chain. The basic functional roles of merchandisers, as well as the expanded supply chain services of Handleman Company, are discussed.
