Replace low-voltage bushings without draining transformer
Article Abstract:
A newly launched split-conductor, draw-lead bushing allows medium-power transformers to have draw-lead connectors on low- and high-voltage sides. This bushing, made of a two-part split conductor and a multiple-spring contact, is designed by Haefely Trench of Canada.

Transformer fires are a serious threat and deserve careful planning for suppression and containment. Oil spills and transformer explosions are common causes of fires. Fire barriers, spatial separation and automatic suppression systems are all useful for prevention.
