Sanyo divides 8 into 5, finds strength
Article Abstract:
Sanyo has restructured its eight corporate divisions to five divisions effective Apr 1, 1999. The reorganization is aimed at increasing efficiency but avoiding redundancy at the company's headquarters. Previously, Sanyo's headquarters had two offices, 13 departments and 1,200 staff members. The revamp led to the creation of a single office housing the five departments with a staff of only 500 employees. The five divisions are the Multimedia Co, the Home Appliances Co, the Commercial Equipment Systems Co, the Semiconductor Co and the Soft Energy Co.
