Sanyo revamps central marketing plan to handle Euro
Article Abstract:
Sanyo Electric co Ltd, Japan, has been reorganizing its marketing system in Europe for the sales of audio/video (A/V) equipment since 1997. It has established Sanyo Fisher Vertriebs GmbH in Munich, Germany, as its sole European A/V sales base. Prpeparations for computer-based accounting in the euro currency unit and exchanges between the euro and individual national currencies have also been completed. Existing production patterns of color TVs and microwave ovens in the UK, color TVs and A/V equipment in Spain and VCR systems in Germany is expected to continue.

Companies showcase A/V expertise at Audio Expo 2000
Article Abstract:
Eighty-four firms displayed their products and technological advances at the Audio Expo 2000 held from Nov 16-19 at the Tokyo Big Site in Ariake, Koutou Ward in Japan. The show, which focused on the audio-video (A/V) hardware and software, offered visitors more choices on how they will use their A/V equipment. Some of the companies that participated in the event include Aiwa Co Ltd, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd, Pioneer Corp, Sharp Corp, Sony Corp and Victor Co of Japan Ltd.

Riding regional rebound, Sharp revamps bases in Southeast Asia
Article Abstract:
Sharp Corp has opted to increase production in the Southeast Asian region in 1999 in the wake of rising stock prices, falling interest rates as well as increasing personal consumption and industrial production in the area. It is also working to increase Southeast Asian sales of its flat-screen televisions, liquid crystal display TVs, MiniDisc players, Internet ViewCam products, notebook computers, digital copiers and facsimile machines.
