Shipments of consumer electronic devices increase 4.2%

The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) reported that domestic shipments of consumer electronics devices for December 2003 increased 9.4 per cent over the same period the previous year. Among the other industries, DVD recorders achieved the most outstanding results in December 2003.

Rise in shipments of Japanese consumer electronics is discussed. While shipments of video devices rose to Yen 133.3 billion, the shipments car audio-video components rose to Yen 59.8 billion.
