Strong demand paints vivid outlook for LCD monitors
Article Abstract:
The demand for liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors is swelling by 2.8 times in Japan in 2000, in comparison to 1999. Demand has reached 2.2 million units, a figure that includes separate LCD monitors and those that integrate into the computer. The brisk demand in 1999 has led to a shortage despite the fact that producers raised productio and started operating new production lines. Demand is expected to continue to rise with the spread of the multiple-display systems which have become possible after the development of digital interfaces.
