Taiwan, Korea TV Makers: Is There Life After Dumping?
Article Abstract:
The effect of the dumping quotas imposed on TVs from Taiwan and Korea will be increased sales for Japanese and American sets. Suppliers are increasing production capabilities in the United States. There will be more hi-tech models, higher prices and higher profit margins. Thirteen and nineteen inch models offer low profitability. This year sales of TVs are expected to reach the sixteen million unit mark. There will be a lack of supply in the low end range.

Walkman and Brethren: From Image Item to Impulse Purchase
Article Abstract:
Personal stereo systems have become an impulse item at retail. With the increased growth of unit sales and lower prices, Walkman type units have moved to high traffic, impulse purchase locations. Stereo Warehouse has placed personal stereo units on counter tops and near the cash register. The personal stereo can be sold as an add on item to home audio units. Some retailers view personal stereo as a completely different category.
