Telephone retailers are predicting a very strong Christmas, 1984, selling season. Unit sales for the year are expected to reach twenty-seven million. Interest in high end telephones is growing. The best price points for gift phones are between thirty and seventy dollars. Display, advertising and promotion are important retail factors. Sales of answering machines are very good. Photographs of some products are included.

Phones in '84: Interconnect
Article Abstract:
Many retailers agree that interconnect or small business telephone systems will bring new sales and profits to telephone specialists. These products are becoming more sophisticated and self installable. Small buinesspersons are the main customers but there should be a growing residential market systems.
