Timepieces tell Seiko how to save energy
Article Abstract:
Seiko Epson will use proprietary technologies in developing advanced- performance and power-conserving products. Among these technologies are 0.5V LSI chips that consume 50nA and 1-volt, 14-bit analog-digital converters. Seiko will also rely on its 'savings' technology it has amassed in producing watches, including savings in energy, resources and space. The company is also narrowing its focus to system LSIs for mobile communications, personal digital assistants and computer peripherals.
