US winter peak may go 6% higher in 1993

Electric utilities report that the peak demand for electricity in US in the winter months of 1992-1993 is expected to increase six percent over 1991-1992. The largest peak is expected in Texas. A regional breakdown of projected increases is included.

Peak demand for electricity will drop to 0.3% below 1993 1994 figures. According to the North American Electric Reliability Council, the the Mid-Continent Area Power Pool will experience the largest decrease.
