VSP330 network-use scanners
Article Abstract:
Fujitsu Ltd's VSP330 and VSP330N scanners provide 90ppm scanning speed for A4 sheets and can also handle A3 manuscripts. Presented with a 100Base-TX local area network interface, the $10,092 VSP330N can read data from file servers and mail servers, and is compatible with TWAIN drivers. The $8,716 VSP330 incorporates a SCS1 port. Both models work in electronic filing and OCR tasks and use an automatic document feeder that allows the scanners to continuously read as many as 100 sheets.

JX-230 color image scanners
Article Abstract:
Sharp has unveiled the JX-230 color image scanner that has an optical resolution of 600 dpi and 4,096 tones output of each RGB color. The JX-230 has a capture speed of 120 seconds for color scanning and 40 seconds for monochrome scanning. The power is supplied from a personal computer through a Universal Serial Bus interface. The JX-230 comes with software for retouching, image sharing, optical character recognition and name card management.

Canoscan FB630Ui color scanners
Article Abstract:
Canon Inc has introduced a flatbed scanner that has a transparent plastic cover that is available in tints of orange, green or blue. The Canoscan FB630Ui scanner, which has a price tag of 24,800 yen ($232), adopted the unique color scheme in an effort to match the appearance of the Apple iMac brand of computers as well as new computer releases from other computer manufacturers.
