Wood H-frames upgraded to hurricane strength by mixing steel with wood
Article Abstract:
Carolina Power and Light Co. has developed a hybrid H-frame concept as an alternative structure for wooden frames. These hybrid structures, which are made of light duty steel pole and wood, have higher yield and rapture stress compared to conventional wooden poles.
