The ASQC fellows project; quality professionals take a critical look at the American Customer Satisfaction Index
Article Abstract:
Six quality control experts analyzed strengths and weaknesses of the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ASCI), as an exercise in the ASQC Fellows Project. ASCI can help inform the public that professionals define quality as a product's fitness for use and how well it meets specifications over its life cycle. One panelist noted the lack of feedback on high-volume low-price products. Panelists agreed that the business committee must be trained in ASCI through business-school classes or public broadcasting.
