Clarifying record-keeping requirements for vegetable-oil producers
Article Abstract:
The recent amendments to the Environmental Protection AgencyEs (EPA) national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants applicable to the solvent extraction process for vegetable oil production (VOP) are discussed. The amendments relate to VOP units using exclusively the low-hazardous air pollutants (HAP). These facilities are permitted to maintain only the records and reports essential to indicate that the solvents used in the VOP meets the low-HAP standards.

EPA finalizes NESHAP amendments
Article Abstract:
The EPA has been mandated by the Clean Air Act to develop standards to regulate emissions of hazardous air pollutants. These standards would apply to any company that emits one or more of the 188 listed hazardous air pollutants in excess of 10 ton/year. To this end the EPA has released amendments to two rules needed to develop the NESHAP amendments.
