Dry screening of granular solids
Article Abstract:
Screening is a process by which granular materials are separated based on their particle sizes. The process is divided into three basic types of operation, grading, fines removal and scalping. While there are a wide range of screening equipment to choose from, the devices can either be gyratory or vibratory in terms of motion. Some of the factors that affect screening performance include the characteristics of the materials being screened, the type of screen, the slope and screen blinding.

Surfactants tackle subsurface pollutants
Article Abstract:
The injection of surfactants to the surbsurface of contaminated groundwater can improve the effective aqueous solubility of non-aqueous- phase liquids (NAPLs) and reduce the interfacial tension between the NAPLs and surrounding pphases. The removal of trapped NAPLs from soil pores is accelerated regardless of the wettability of the groundwater system. The system is referred to as surfactant-enhanced aquifer remediation.
