Expanding role seen for enzymes
Article Abstract:
A study from the Freedonia Group Inc, titled 'Specialty and Industrial Enzymes,' projects that US demand for specialty and industrial enzymes will reach $2.6 billion in 2004. The increase in enzymen consumption will be spurred by the introduction of novel biocatalysts targeted at a wide variety of end uses in established markets such as textiles and cosmetics. Consumption is expected to increase an average of 7.5% from 1999-2004.
