Find young leaders or lose them
Article Abstract:
The companies which will survive in the new competitive environment developing are those that can attract and maintain personnel and leaders who will have new skills and attitudes. Success in the new environment will mean that companies must show competence in the knowledge-service vector and the leadership skills needed are the development of business strategy, and motivation and creation of organizations. Among the qualities of future leaders are their tendency to act rather than ask permission, capability to establish peer relations with authority and inclination towards difficult challenges.

The old management concept of increased control over workers has been replaced by worker empowerment as the key to effective technoservice. For managers to learn the psychology of empowerment, however, they are advised to unlearn the psychology of control first.
