Germany's non-profit R&D groups boost private sector manufacturing as slowdown looms
Article Abstract:
Both small and mid-sized German companies without adequate research and development (R&D) capabilities in-house are relying on non-profit R&D institutions in enhancing their manufacturing technologies for chief markets. Large firms in the country, meanwhile, are supported by these institutional research groups in worker training and in the acquisition of technologically advanced equipment. Firms that cooperate with research institutions can choose between two main conduits, contract research facilitiesor cooperative industrial research associations.
