Roughness gage smooths printer production
Article Abstract:
Optical Dimensions' Lasercheck, a surface measurement tool, offers improved capabilities over the traditional stylus profilometry used to monitor printer developer roll surfaces. Lasercheck shines a laser onto the surface and measures the reflected light without damaging the surface. The stylus method can eventually deform the rubber rolls, causing print quality problems.
