How the Japanese manage the R and D-marketing interface
Article Abstract:
Organisational and senior managment issues can directly influence or frustrate Research and Development (R and D)-marketing integration and new product success levels. Research involving 274 Japanese R and D managers was undertaken to establish whether Japanese firms are affected by the same issues. The research shows that new product projects in high-integration Japanese firms are more fruitful than in low-integration firms. The degree of R and D-marketing integration depends on the effectiveness of R and D-marketing relations.

Beware the percent completion metric
Article Abstract:
Traditional schedule predictions and predictions based on past data are two methods that can be utilized to predict project completion and avoid project delays. Predictions based on past data involve the use of a graph that plots predicted completion dates against the date that they were made. As the project progresses, the graph can be utilized to determine the likelihood of the current predicted launch date. Such method utilizes actual performance of past schedule predictions to determine project completion.
